Resend: New Initiative: Energy Imbalance Market Transitional Committee Governance Proposal, Meeting 1/12/15

The California ISO is launching a new stakeholder initiative called the Energy Imbalance Market (EIM) Transitional Committee governance proposal.  We will post an initial issue paper on January 5, 2015 for discussion during a stakeholder meeting on January 12, 2015 in Phoenix, Arizona.  Comments on the paper are due by January 26.  If planning to attend in person, please RSVP by January 7.

Main Text

The EIM Transitional Committee, which is an advisory body to the ISO Board of Governors, is developing a straw proposal for EIM governance and is seeking stakeholder input on two threshold issues. The first issue is a set of criteria the Committee has developed for evaluating potential governance proposals. The second issue concerns the general relationship between the ISO and the EIM governing body, and the nature and degree of the influence the EIM body should have over the EIM rules.

The Committee has created a stakeholder working group comprised of five members of the EIM Transitional Committee. The working group will post an issue paper to the ISO website on January 5, 2015 at, and hold a stakeholder meeting to discuss the paper on January 12, 2015 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Please note that the stakeholder meeting will be followed by an EIM Transitional Committee meeting at the same location, from noon to 4:30 (MST) on January 12.  The public agenda will post January 5, a week before the meeting. The general session is tentatively scheduled from 1:00 to 3:30pm (MST).

The ISO will post an agenda and presentation for the stakeholder meeting by close of business January 8 on the website link referenced above.  If planning to attend the meeting in person, please RSVP to by January 7.

Please submit comments on the issue paper to by close of business January 26.
