Main Text

On August 13, 2013, the ISO posted a third revised straw proposal for its Energy Imbalance Market stakeholder initiative, which is available at http://www.caiso.com/Documents/ThirdRevisedStrawProposal-EnergyImbalanceMarket-Aug13_2013.pdf. A stakeholder meeting was held on August 20 to discuss the proposal.

At the request of stakeholders, the deadline date to submit comments on the proposal has been extended to September 6, and should be submitted to EIM@caiso.com.

The third revised straw proposal describes the approach the ISO is developing in conjunction with stakeholders for its planned energy imbalance market. The energy imbalance market will allow balancing authorities throughout the West to participate in a real-time imbalance energy market operated by the ISO.

More information on the Energy Imbalance Market stakeholder initiative is available at http://www.caiso.com/informed/Pages/StakeholderProcesses/EnergyImbalanceMarket.aspx.
