Energy Imbalance Market Go-Live Enhancements Draft Final Proposal and Call 06/16/14




The California ISO has posted the Energy Imbalance Market (EIM) Go-Live Enhancements Draft Final Proposal and will host a stakeholder call on June 16, 2014 to discuss the proposal. Please provide comments by June 23.

As part of its EIM tariff, the ISO has posted the Energy Imbalance Market Go-Live Enhancements Draft Final Proposal to its website at The proposal addresses recommendations for subjecting EIM transfer limits to local market power mitigation and transition costs for coal-fueled multi-stage generator resources.


Additionally, the Department of Market Monitoring has posted the Assessment of Potential Market Power in Energy Imbalance Market on the ISO website at This report evaluates the structural competitiveness within EIM balancing authority areas.


Please submit comments on the draft final proposal to by close of business June 23.
