EIM Governing Body Nominating Committee - Request for Suppliers and Marketers of Generation Sector Representative

Implementation of the EIM governance structure includes the development of a nominating committee of stakeholders that will select a slate of candidates for the EIM Governing Body. The Suppliers and Marketers of Generation sector of the EIM Governing Body nominating committee is requesting additional participation from its sector stakeholders who may want to be considered for the role of sector representative on this committee.

Main Text

Members of the EIM Governing Body are to be selected by a nominating committee of stakeholders from key industry sectors through a process designed to ensure that each nominee is a consensus choice of these stakeholder representatives.  Potential nominees would be identified after a nationwide search with assistance from an executive recruiting firm.

The first set of sector calls occurred on December 14, 2015.  During the Suppliers and Marketers of Generation sector call, Mark Smith of Calpine indicated interest in being the sector representative.  In an effort to be inclusive and invite more participation from stakeholders on Monday's calls, the ISO requests any stakeholder in this sector interested in being considered for the Suppliers and Marketers of Generation representative role to contact Stacey Crowley at

The definition for this sector, as stated in the draft selection policy documents being considered by the ISO Board at their December 17 and 18, 2015 meeting is:

"The 'Suppliers and Marketers of Generation and Energy Service Providers' sector, which will include every entity that is party to a Scheduling Coordinator Agreement or a Participating Generator Agreement with the ISO (as those terms are defined in the ISO tariff), provided that it does not qualify for the EIM Entities sector, the Participating Transmission Owners sector or the Publicly-Owned Utilities Sector."

Please indicate interest by close of business Monday, December 28, 2015.
