EIM Governance Review Committee: Nominations for Vacant Positions in the Public Interest/Consumer Advocates Sectors due 1/12/22

MESSAGE

The Western Energy Imbalance Market (EIM) governance structure provides for periodic review to assess and enhance EIM governance. As part of this process, the ISO Board of Governors (Board) and the Western EIM Governing Body seated an advisory committee to evaluate and make recommendations to the current governance structure of the Western EIM. This EIM Governance Review Committee (GRC) has been in place since late 2019 and has provided proposals to both bodies on certain changes to EIM governance. The GRC has been asked to continue its work and to evaluate any potential changes to the EIM governance structure in light of the prospect of an Extended Day Ahead Market (EDAM).

There are currently two vacancies on the GRC, both serving to represent Public Interest Organizations and Consumer Advocates. The Board and Governing Body are seeking qualified candidates within the Public Interest and Consumer Advocates sector to fill those vacancies and serve as representatives on the EIM Governance Review Committee.

The GRC Charter outlines things such as the mission, scope and qualifications of its membership, and more general GRC information is available on the GRC webpage of the Western EIM website.

Included in the Charter are the qualities that should be considered in identifying and considering potential nominees. They include:

  • Proven leadership skills with respect to a wide range of complex issues
  • Understanding of regional issues
  • Ability and willingness to consider and represent a broad range of perspectives and to work collaboratively to build consensus
  • General industry experience
  • Support for the success of EIM and, if applicable, the EDAM
  • Availability to actively participate in the GRC on an ongoing basis for the duration of its existence

Nominations for qualified candidates are due no later than 5:00 p.m. PST on Jan. 12, 2022.
