The California ISO will hold a public stakeholder call on Dec. 13, 2022, to discuss the FERC Order No. 881 - Managing Transmission Line Ratings phase 2 initiative scope, and respond to questions from stakeholders.
On July 12, 2022, the ISO filed tariff revisions to comply with FERC Order No. 881, which seeks to improve the accuracy and transparency of electric transmission line ratings used by public utility transmission providers. While the ISO, as a public utility transmission service provider, intends to leverage existing business processes where possible to comply with Order No. 881, implementing Order No. 881 will affect the reliability coordinator functions the ISO performs as RC West.
Following the FERC Order No. 881 - Managing Transmission Line Ratings initiative’s phase 1 July 12, 2022 compliance filing, the ISO committed to holding regular discussions with participating transmission owners, WEIM entities, market participants, and RC West customers to address implementation issues and milestones associated with Order No. 881. The public call on December 13 will kick off those discussions, and continue through phase 2 of this initiative.

Stakeholders are encouraged to send any questions or comments they wish to be addressed during the call to ISOStakeholderAffairs@caiso.com by end of day December 8.
