The California ISO will host a public virtual stakeholder workshop on Sept. 12, 2022 to discuss challenges facing storage resources proving ancillary services in the ISO markets and the available suite of potential solutions that could be implemented to address these challenges. The ISO will present observations for individual storage resource and fleet level participation in the ancillary service market and observations for periods when challenges arose meeting ISO obligations. The ISO will also present on the current array of solutions, including those being considered in the Energy Storage Enhancements initiative, to address these challenges. Presentations will be posted to the Energy Storage Enhancements initiative webpage prior to the workshop.
The ISO is requesting presentations from market participants to outline other potential solutions and foster dialogue for advancing thinking around these solutions. The ISO requests that presentations be sent to ISOStakeholderAffairs@caiso.com by end of day September 9. All received meeting materials will also be posted to the initiative webpage linked above prior to the workshop.
The workshop will be recorded and the file posted to the initiative webpage for a limited time. Any related transcriptions should not be reprinted without the ISO’s permission.
