The Western Energy Imbalance Market (EIM) Nominating Committee has started the process to fill the Governing Body vacancy following the recent resignation of Travis Kavulla. The Governing Body is a five member body that works closely with the California ISO Board of Governors and exercises delegated authority over rules of the Western EIM.
According to the Charter for Western EIM Governance, if a vacancy occurs and eighteen months or more remain of the term of the departing member, a replacement member shall be selected to fill the vacancy pursuant to the Policy for Selection of the Western EIM Governing Body.
Candidates for the Western EIM Governing Body are selected by a Nominating Committee comprised of representatives of Western EIM stakeholders. The Nominating Committee will immediately begin work on identifying a candidate to bring to the Western EIM Governing Body for approval in a general session meeting. The following steps are being taken for the nomination process:
- The executive search firm, Lyceum Leadership Consulting, will develop a list of qualified candidates for the Western EIM Governing Body
- Stakeholders are encouraged to provide the names and resumes of qualified candidates to the executive search firm (contact information provided below) by no later than Oct. 31, 2019
- The list of vetted qualified candidates will be sent to the Nominating Committee, who will review and narrow down to a “short list” of at least two candidates per seat
- Following candidate interviews, the Nominating Committee will nominate one nominee by consensus of the voting members; and
- The name of the nominee will be posted to the Western EIM website and the Western EIM Governing Body will make a decision on that nominee
To streamline the nominating process, Lyceum Leadership Consulting will be accepting inbound names of qualified candidates. Stakeholders who wish to submit names to the search firm shall keep the following criteria in mind:
- Submissions must include a resume (not bio format) and a letter of recommendation with rationale and motivation for the suggestion
- Email submissions by end of day Oct. 31, 2019, to Lyceum Leadership Consulting c/o Carly Olson at carly.olson@leadershiplyceum.com. You will receive an acknowledgement of receipt shortly after you submit
