The California ISO has implemented and activated the Generator Contingency and Remedial Action Scheme Modeling project, effective trade date March 1, 2019.
The Generator Contingency and Remedial Action Scheme Modeling implementation
- enhances the Security Constrained Economic Dispatch
- models generation/load loss in the dispatch
- models transmission loss along and generation/load loss due to Remedial Action Scheme (RAS) operation dispatch
- models transmission reconfiguration due to RAS operation in the dispatch
- updates the congestion component of Locational Marginal Price (LMP) so that it considers the cost of positioning the system to account for generator contingencies and RAS operations
- enhances Day-Ahead Market (DAM), Real-Time Market (RTM) and Energy Imbalance Market (EIM) to support generator contingencies.
