Energy Imbalance Market Year 1 Enhancements Phase 2 Draft Tariff Language, Call 3/22/16
Summary
The California ISO posted the draft tariff language for phase 2 of the Energy Imbalance Market Year 1 Enhancements initiative which will be discussed during a stakeholder call scheduled March 22, 2016. Comments on the tariff language are due by close of business March 15.
Main Text
The ISO has scheduled a stakeholder call for March 22, 2016 to discuss the draft tariff language for phase 2 of the Energy Imbalance Market Year 1 Enhancements initiative, which is available on the ISO website at http://www.caiso.com/Documents/DraftTariffLanguage-EIMYear1EnhancementsPhase2.docx.
The draft tariff language addresses real-time congestion offset costs and the associated calculation for marginal losses, outage reporting, base schedule import and export requirements, and market power mitigation of internal interties. The ISO has also included two clarifications: (1) one associated with economic bidding on the interties consistent with the policy underlying the phase 2 enhancements and (2) concerning the use of the EIM administrative charge when calculating default energy bids and commitment costs.
The policy associated with the phase 2 enhancements and more information is available on the initiative webpage at http://www.caiso.com/informed/Pages/StakeholderProcesses/EnergyImbalanceMarketYear1Enhancements.aspx.
Please submit comments on the draft tariff language to initiativecomments@caiso.com by close of business March 15.
