EIM Resource Sufficiency Evaluation Enhancements Phase 1 Revised Draft Final Proposal, Call Rescheduled to 12/21/21

MESSAGE

The California ISO has rescheduled the stakeholder call to discuss the revised draft final proposal for Phase 1 of the Energy Imbalance Market (EIM) Resource Sufficiency Evaluation (RSE) Enhancements initiative from Dec. 14, 2021, to Dec. 21, 2021. The proposal and presentation will be available on the initiative webpage prior to the meeting.

The objective of this initiative is to review the balancing, capacity, and flexible ramping tests to determine if any enhancements are needed to ensure the test components achieve their stated objective. Based on stakeholder comments received previously in this initiative, the ISO is proposing to bifurcate this initiative into two phases. This approach will allow ISO to address in the first phase near-term enhancements that will improve the accuracy and transparency of the test. These improvements will serve as a baseline for the second phase where we will take more time to gain consensus on long-term enhancements while also revisiting the consequences of failing the RSE.

The call will be recorded and the video file posted on the initiative webpage for a limited time. The recording is for informational and convenience purposes only, and any related transcriptions should not be reprinted without the ISO’s permission.

Please submit written comments on the revised draft final proposal and meeting discussion by end of day Jan. 10, 2022, through the ISO’s commenting tool using the link on the initiative webpage.
