The California ISO has scheduled stakeholder call on April 29, 2022, to discuss the third revised straw proposal for the Day-Ahead Market Enhancements (DAME) initiative, which is available on the initiative webpage.
The objective of this initiative is to:
- Introduce an imbalance reserve product in the integrated forward market that procures flexible capacity to cover real-time ramping needs that are not covered by hourly day-ahead market schedules and to cover uncertainty in the net load forecast between day-ahead and real-time markets.
- Enhance the residual unit commitment process to enable the procurement of downward dispatch capability and to include local market power mitigation measures.
- Facilitate changes that establish a foundational market design for extending the day-ahead market to Western Energy Imbalance Market (WEIM) participants.
The presentation will be posted prior to the meetings at the initiative webpage linked above.
The call will be recorded and the video file posted on the initiative webpage for a limited time. The recording is for informational and convenience purposes only, and any related transcriptions should not be reprinted without the ISO’s permission.
Please submit written comments on the third revised straw proposal and meeting discussion by end of day May 19, 2022, through the ISO’s commenting tool using the link on the initiative webpage.
